Silenzio (2025)

Following my previous automaton Crescendo — a humorous ode to the loudest, most forceful note — I wanted to explore the opposite: stillness, the quiet before sound. Silenzio captures an opera singer at the very moment before he begins to sing, embodying both anticipation and restraint.

The piece also carries a subtle, humorous nod to one of the greatest opera voices of all time, Luciano Pavarotti — an artist I deeply admire and draw inspiration from.

This piece is based on a hand sculpted clay original and is then cast in acrylic resin. Every piece is hand-painted, detailed with pen and pencil crosshatching, and adorned with delicate touches of gold leaf. The result is a series of 20 unique pieces, each carrying its own character within the shared theme of silence and poise.
